What is fungi???
Fungi is an unicellular organism ,their body is called mycellium made up of hyphae. They are not considered as plants as well as animals.The following are the characters of fungi;
Algae are neither plants or animals because they do not have stems ,roots ,leaves and flowers.They are found in stagnant water.

- They are non-chlorophylls.
- They do not have any pigment.
- They are found in dry and moist places.
- They are parasites.
- They are decomposer.
- Fungi are also used in making medicines and are also used in food.
- Some fungi are edible and some are poisonous.
- The examples of fungi are mushroom, ustilago,penicillin,etc.
- They are heterotrophs.

- They are simple organisms that contain chlorophyll.
- They grow in water and remove oxygen from water,therefore harming plants and aquatic creatures.
- They are autotrophs.
- Their size range from single cell to multicellular cells.
- They require aquatic environment for reproduction.
- They do not have modification that protects gametes and zygote from dying out.
- They are symbiotic or independent.
